NEW & IMPROVED PARKS We are continually working to ensure our parks and trails are well-designed and maintained to meet the needs of our growing community. This includes the creation of new parks, as well as the improvement of existing parks. Check out one of these recently opened or improved parks this fall: UNWIN PARK DOG OFF-LEASH AREA 13313 68 Avenue Let Fido run loose in this new temporary dog-off leash area in Newton. Completed in August 2022, this fully fenced area is shared for dogs of different sizes.

SPRING BREAK Youth Volunteer Opportunities

Calling all youth 13–18 years! Looking to earn volunteer hours over spring break? Get involved with a park clean up, nature or garden work parties, and more! Tools and training provided. Check surrey.ca/parkprograms in January for the spring break schedule. Community Tree Planting Saturday, March 18 10am–12pm Hazelnut Meadows Community Park 14069 68 Avenue Plant trees and shrubs to help grow Surrey's urban forest. Wear sturdy, closed-toed shoes and come prepared to get dirty! Gloves, shovels and training provided. All events are free and drop-in, and take place rain or shine but could be cancelled in high winds. surrey.ca/releaf

HELP KEEP YOUR PARKS CLEAN & BEAUTIFUL When you visit a Surrey park, make sure you pack out all of your waste. This includes food wrappers, scraps, and packaging, including take-out containers and pizza boxes. Make sure to Pack It In, Pack it Out!
