MESSAGE FROM Mayor Brenda Locke As a longtime Surrey resident, I know the importance of staying active and how it contributes to an enhanced quality of life. As our City continues to grow, Council will ensure we continue to build on our world-class facilities and programs that allow us to stay active in the place we call home. At the City of Surrey, we take great pride in delivering engaging programs and services that promote healthy development for all our residents regardless of income or background. We are committed to building a community where everyone is given equal opportunity for a healthy lifestyle that embraces physical activity. From aquatics and sports programs in our modern recreation and sport fields, to adapted and wellness programs, to arts and heritage offerings – there is something for everyone to enjoy. In this Guide, you will find programs, lessons and activities for all ages, all abilities and all skill levels. Whether it’s a stroll through one of our more than 800 parks, swimming at your local rec centre, or signing up for an art or fitness class, I hope you will take time this winter to enjoy all that our beautiful City has to offer.
