CITY MANAGER

The City Manager’s Department worked closely with every department across the organization to deliver key accomplishments in 2024, including selected initiatives where the City Manager’s Department played a key role or coordinating role:

INCLUSION

• Developed an Age-Friendly Action Plan to operationalize the newly updated Age-Friendly Strategy and strengthen support for seniors in Surrey; and

• Completed consultations with Katzie, Kwantlen and Semiahmoo Nations, and Urban Indigenous communities, for the design of an Indigenous learning venue in North Surrey to support Indigenous cultural practices, including gathering and knowledge sharing.

BUILT ENVIRONMENT & NEIGHBOURHOODS

• Completed the feasibility study and proceeded with detailed design for 72 Ave between 152 St and 176 St to increase east/west transportation choices;

• Worked directly with TransLink to deliver improved transit services to

Surrey including the under construction Surrey Langley Skytrain.

ECONOMIC PROSPERITY & LIVELIHOODS

Developed a Surrey analytics data analytics platform to track and measure the City's economic, livability, and social infrastructure needs while identifying opportunities

• Launched the City’s new Economic Strategy 2024 in order to articulate Surrey’s economic needs and opportunities to create 300,000 jobs by 2042.
