Celebrate BC Trails Day June 7, 10am and 1pm
Owls in the Park June 7, 11am-1pm Discover owls of many different shapes and sizes and their owl-mazing adaptations from a knowledgeable park interpreter. Follow a self-guided trail to learn about the endangered northern spotted owl, its life cycle, and conservation. Meet a live owl! Drop-in. All ages. Tynehead Regional Park (16689 96 Ave, Surrey). Meet at the Hatchery entrance. Hosted by Metro Vancouver Regional Parks. Guided Green Timbers Walk June 7, 11am-1pm Join us for a nature walk in Green Timbers. Get outside, make new friends, and uncover amazing secrets of the forest along the way! Drop-in. All ages. Surrey Nature Centre (14225 Green Timbers Way) Hosted by Green Timbers Heritage Society. Green Timbers Open Forest June 7, 12-4pm Experience the wonder of Surrey’s largest urban forest! ‘Peek’ into the lake, get to know forest plants and animals through fun activities and relaxing nature walks, and grab a free Green Timbers tote (while supplies last). Drop-in. All ages. Green Timbers Urban Forest Park (14600 block of 100 Ave). Meet at the south end of Green Timbers Lake. Clayton Seed Library Meetup June 8, 10:30am-12:30pm Volunteer with the Clayton Seed Library every month and learn some gardening tips and tricks in the process. Eco-Art: Painting with Natural Pigments June 8, 2-5pm Paint with pigments that are made from plants and flowers! Experiment with natural resources to create colour changes for your art practice. BC Trails Day raises awareness about responsible use of and care for our trails and provides opportunities to enjoy our trails and outdoor spaces. Celebrate by listening to forest songs, breathing fresh air, and seeing nature close-up on a guided nature trail walk. Walks are accessible. Drop in at either 10am or 1pm.
