PLANNING & DEVELOPMENT

• Provided an update on the Climate Change Action Strategy and identified Quick Start Actions.

FUTURE INITIATIVES, GOALS & OBJECTIVES

INCLUSION

• Initiate the development of an updated Affordable Housing Strategy to identify priorities and actions related to rental housing in Surrey.

BUILT ENVIRONMENT & NEIGHBOURHOODS

• Continue to explore opportunities to expand and leverage Professional Reliance in the approval process, implementing streamlining, quality assurance and oversight opportunities; • Complete the Official Community Plan update to comprehensively support housing needs integration, climate action and the assessment of all agricultural, food-producing land in Surrey, with a view to protecting these lands for the purpose of addressing future food security requirements; • Continue to advance the Stage 2 work for South Westminster NCP, capturing its potential as a “Gateway to Surrey”; and

• Implement new zones for six-storeys and townhouses (25 units per acre and stacked).
