BUILT ENVIRONMENT & NEIGHBOURHOODS
• Continued implementation of the Coastal Flood Adaptation Strategy through ongoing design and construction of DMAF projects; • Initiated a study to review climate change impacts on rainfall patterns; Initiated a study to review the feasibility of providing irrigation services to the farming community in the Serpentine and Nicomekl lowlands; • Continued implementation of lowland flood control projects such as dyke raising and flood box replacements; • Finalized the South Campbell Heights ISMP; and • Worked with other City departments and Provincial agencies on Fraser River freshet preparedness to enable the City to respond effectively during the 2025 freshet season. •

PUBLIC SAFETY
• Completed a ravine stability assessment of all ravines in Surrey highlighting areas of potential risk to public safety; • Monitored wave and wind action on Surrey’s coastal areas through the City’s two ocean monitoring stations;
• Participated in regional flood strategy initiatives; and • Provided support to operations staff responding to a major rainfall event.
