FUTURE INITIATIVES, GOALS & OBJECTIVES
PUBLIC SAFETY
Continue to work with the Federal Government and Province to determine the final scope of the DMAF program and update funding agreements; and •
Continue to improve flood protection in the lowlands through infrastructure and dyking systems.
•
ECOSYSTEMS
• Develop watershed health dashboards to support current and future watershed management planning work; • Review the effectiveness of 12 dry detention ponds in the City and finalize a plan for land utilization; •
Implement GIS mapping process for watercourse classification in COSMOS (with supporting QEP reports); and • Construct two creek daylighting projects.
INFRASTRUCTURE
• Continue to liaise with Federal and Provincial Regulators to allow the timely approval/authorization of projects and to complete fisheries habitat compensation projects; and
• Update design criteria requirements to reflect changing rainfall patterns.
