2025 ACCOMPLISHMENTS
HEALTH & WELLNESS
Achieved over 75% compliance of the annual testing of backflow preventers; Maintained overall water quality in the system through annual unidirectional flushing program where approximately 300 km of mains, 13% of the whole system, were flushed;
Commenced the cross connection survey at industrial, commercial, institutional and multi-family lots within City Center; and Monitored water quality at City pump stations and 51 sampling

INFRASTRUCTURE
Replaced 2.1km of obsolete watermain within City Centre, Newton, Clayton and South Surrey to maintain service reliability; Maintained a watermain break rate of fewer than 2 breaks/100km, which is lower than the average for municipalities across Canada; and Completed the replacement of four Pressure Reducing Valves (“PRV”) in the City with an above ground kiosk to eliminate confined space entry.
