Our city is growing, and we’re investing in recreation spaces and programs that bring people together, support healthy living, and celebrate Surrey’s incredible diversity. Parks, Recreation and Sport Tourism Advisory Committee The Parks, Recreation & SportTourism Advisory Committee provides advice to Council on strategies and activities related to parks, recreation, diversity, inclusion, sport tourism and seniors’ services in Surrey. The Committee is comprised of two members of City Council, one Surrey SchoolsTrustee and volunteer members who are City of Surrey residents and appointed by the Mayor and Council.

CODE OF CONDUCT The Code of Conduct outlines the behavior expected from all visitors, including participants, coaches, parents, volunteers, and spectators that visit our Parks, Recreation and Culture facilities. Treat everyone fairly and equitably Engage in fair play by respecting the rules of the activity and the facility Use language and engage in behaviour that encourages participation. Abusive or disrespectful language will not be tolerated Behaviour that frightens, demoralizes, or negatively affects the self-esteem of anyone will not be tolerated Refrain from using cell phones, cameras, or video recording devices in washrooms and changerooms Use of the facility while intoxicated, as well as use or possession of alcohol or illegal drugs within the facility is prohibited Respect public property and the property of others Follow facility rules related to public health guidelines, notices, and orders Individuals and/or organizations who do not adhere to the Code of Conduct will be requested to leave the facility immediately. Depending on the severity of the incident, a further ban from all City facilities may be imposed.

PROGRAM WITHDRAWAL FEES: There is a $15 withdrawal fee for most programs if you withdraw within seven days of the program’s start date. Certain third-party operators who run activities may have different cancellation policies. Exceptions apply. Learn more surrey.ca/reghelp . PRIVACY POLICY: Personal information is collected for the purposes of administering recreation and culture programs. The City of Surrey is collecting this information under s.26 (c) of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. If we have a cancellation, then we will call those on the waitlist in the order that they joined. 2. Families who register online need one MySurrey account . All adults in the same household must use the same credentials to sign in. 3. Ensure you are using Chrome as your browser. 4. Log into your MySurrey account between 8:45pm–8:59pm to enter the virtual waiting room. There is no benefit to logging in earlier than 15 minutes before registration opens. If you log in earlier, refresh the page after 8:45pm to enter the virtual waiting room. While we recommend using the tips below, we cannot guarantee that you will secure a spot. Before Registration Day 1. Do not create a new MySurrey account if you previously had a recreation account and can’t remember the email associated with it. Call 604-501-5100 and we will help you find your original account. 2. Log in to your MySurrey account to ensure all your account information is correct. 3. Check that all your family members are on your account – visit a facility or email prc-customerservice@surrey.ca. 4. Verify that the address on your account is correct – visit a facility with valid identification. 5. Store your credit card information securely for faster payment. 6. Leisure Access Program The City of Surrey’s Leisure Access Program helps make recreation more affordable for Surrey residents facing financial barriers. If you or your family are experiencing financial challenges, you may be eligible. Choose the application method that best aligns with your circumstances. Once approved, you’ll receive discounts for drop-in and registered programs at all City-run recreation facilities. Language support is available; if you have questions and would prefer to speak in another language, free translation services can be provided. RECREATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES We offer a wide variety of outdoor recreational opportunities. Get out and explore our nature trails and gardens, public tennis courts, youth parks, water parks, bike trails, public artworks. Stay active for life and experience the unique blend of nature, recreation, and art in Surrey.
Whalley, including City Centre, boasts nearly 40 parks, each offering its own unique experience! Whether you’re exploring the scenic trails and riding the miniature train at Bear Creek Park or indulging in birdwatching amidst the lush forests of Al Cleaver Park, there's no shortage of outdoor adventures that await in Surrey’s bustling hub!
GARDENS Display Gardens
NATURE TRAILS Spot an owl or an eagle’s nest and watch for returning salmon at Bear Creek Park; discover the wetlands, meadows, and lake at GreenTimbers Urban Forest Park; or take in the diverse habitats at Hawthorne Rotary Park. DOG OFF-LEASH AREAS Bear Creek Park, Kennedy Park, Tannery Road Park, Bolivar Park, and Forsyth Park in Whalley offer dog off-leash areas with plenty of space to roam and play. Please remember the off-leash etiquette before you unleash your dog in the off-leash area.
Explore the gardens in Bear Creek Park, Hawthorn Rotary Park and Holland Park and look forward to spectacular annual garden displays! Community Gardens Whalley offers two Community Gardens: Cedar Grove Organic Community Garden, and Queen Elizabeth Meadows Community Garden. YOUTH PARKS Whalley is home to three youth parks—KwantlenYouth Park, Chuck BaileyYouth Park and Bear CreekYouth Park—offering a variety of skateboard and BMX features for all skill levels. BIKE PARKS Quibble Creek Greenway features a small pump trail, which is great for honing skills like cornering and jumping. WATER PARKS Bridgeview Park, Bear Creek Park and Hawthorne Park spray parks are activated by push buttons when it is warmer than 20 degrees Celsius. Both areas offer many additional amenities, such as walking paths, sports fields and picnic areas. OUTDOOR POOLS Enjoy a free public swim or book your summer swimming lessons at Kwantlen Outdoor Pool. Check online for dates and operating hours. PICKLEBALL /TENNIS Check to see what public outdoor courts are located in your neighbourhood. Some are lit for night time use until 10:30pm. For more information visit surrey.ca/ tennis-pickleball . GARDENS Display Gardens The gardens at Fleetwood Park are a perfect place for family outings, special occasions or some relaxing down time. Explore the labyrinth and sculptural art. NATURE TRAILS Take a 30-minute stroll along the 1.8 kilometre nature trail in Fleetwood Park, offering visitors peaceful reflection within its urban forest. More beauty can be found in the tranquil setting of the Charles Richardson Nature Reserve— one of the best places in the city to see waterfowl. Godwin Farm Biodiversity Preserve Park, which is home to a variety of birds and wildlife, offers a loop trail where you can discover rare trees, a tasting orchard and a pond.
DOG OFF-LEASH AREAS Freedom Dog Park lives up to its name, providing over 1.25 hectares (3 acres) of open space for free running your dog. The park provides a balanced terrain with lots of grass and open gravel areas as well as a looping trail through the forest.
