The City strives to provide inclusive and supportive recreation experiences for all participants, primarily by City of Surrey staff or a community partner. While we do our best to accommodate individual needs, the City’s ability to fulfill support requests is contingent on the number of spaces available and staff resources.
The City’s ability to provide support may be limited where a participant:
Requires a high level of assistance (ex: feeding or toileting) Has complex medical needs
Exhibits behaviours that go beyond a recreational support scope, including actions that may create unsafe environments for staff or participants (ex: running from the group)
Alternatively, external support or family member/friend support may be provided. Please email inclusion@surrey.ca if you have any questions regarding your child or a specific program.
