OBJECTIVE

8.4 Work with third-party utilities to support growth.

POLICY ACTIONS

8.4.1

Work with BC Hydro and other electrical providers to coordinate and, where possible, co-locate infrastructure to support growth and ensure new development is designed with electrical infrastructure needs in mind. Work with FortisBC and other gas service providers to align system expansion, pursue co-location where feasible and support gas infrastructure required for growth.

8.4.3

Work with telecommunication and internet providers to coordinate network expansion, identify opportunities for shared corridors and ensure digital infrastructure keeps pace with growth. Work with emerging utility providers, including renewable energy, to coordinate infrastructure planning and explore co-location where feasible.
