E4 OCP Amendments

An OCP may be amended from time to time to address the community’s evolving needs. OCP amendments may be proposed to support development, reflect updated policies, incorporate new requirements, or respond to emerging opportunities and challenges. Council may amend the OCP, as a City-led amendment, or as a result of a development application that is inconsistent with the OCP. All OCP amendments are subject to approval by Council.

4.1 Administrative Amendments

Amendments that are considered minor in nature are typically identified by staff and advanced to Council, from time to time, in a corporate report.They include changes to text other than policies, correction of errors and changes to the land use map to reflect approved developments.

4.2 Policy & Plan-Related Amendments

These amendments include changes to land use designations, maps or the policy text framework to accommodate new development types or new policy directions, or to incorporate the proposed recommendations of a new or amended Secondary Plan , or other planning process, into the OCP, as directed by Council from time to time.
