OBJECTIVE

4.4 Establish and grow arts and culture as part of the physical and social make-up of the city.

POLICY ACTIONS

4.4.1

Plan for and locate arts and culture facilities and programming in the City Centre entertainment district and Town Centres . Secure new cultural spaces by pursuing senior government funding, land donations, contributions through site development, private donations and regulation changes, as appropriate. Facilitate creative hubs in City Centre and Town Centres for artists and cultural workers.

4.4.4

Collaborate with Indigenous communities to reflect Indigenous culture in destination spaces through art, language, and programming. Establish participatory design processes for new cultural and public spaces in City Centre and Town Centres , involving local artists, cultural groups, Indigenous communities and residents. Plan civic and private development public art projects in strategic locations to enhance sense of place and community pride.
