My name is Parshotam Goel, a resident of City of Surrey since past 37 years, self employed, contesting as a Council candidate with Proudly Surrey team. Proudly Surrey would like to take steps to have City of Surrey its own police force, have more control over resources to improve public safety. Support a balanced transit systems of LRT and Sky Train

together. LRT as proposed and Sky Train for inter urban connection. Regulated, environment friendly truck parking facilities by the City in addition to the private ones. Support to create an awareness and pressure to the provincial government for additional health care facility. Improvements in issuing the Building Permits and development process by introducing measures to improve efficiency of the management. An open and fair system for small businesses, builders and developers needs to be created that should be working equally for all, rather than the selected ones.

Laurie, an original “Vancouver-ite”, has lived in Surrey for 25 years with her husband and 5 children. She was an actress, dancer and model, and toured worldwide promoting a televised fitness series. After moving to Surrey she was a top-producing realtor, co-owned a building company, and instructed fitness and yoga classes. 18 years ago her son

was diagnosed with autism. Since then, Laurie has been involved with AutismBC and has been the president for two terms. She also chaired the Community Council for Surrey-under MCFD. She advocates for science-based autism treatment as her son has reached best outcome. Laurie has held many positions in her local Conservative EDA including president; she ran for Surrey Council in 2014 receiving over 18,500 votes; is the Blockwatch Captain; has made the Dean’s List at Athabasca University- pursuing her degree in political science (minor in Psychology); and is a director at Surrey Crime Prevention Society.
