Poets with a Video Camera Videopoetry combines the ancient artform of poetry and storytelling with video technology. It can involve performance, text, typography, sound, and image. Experience this hybrid artform with two dozen key works from international and Canadian artists spanning the 1980s to 2020.The internationally recognized Surrey- based poet and criticTom Konyves is guest curating this exhibit, bringing together an unprecedented and eclectic set of videopoems to define the form while showing its limitlessness. SKETCH IN THE GALLERY Make art while experiencing art! When you come for a visit, drawing benches are available for you to use. All skill levels welcome! Bring your own gallery-friendly art materials (pencils, paper, and coloured pencils). ONLINE ART VIDEOS Salt Dough Sculptures with Claire Moore Try your hand at making fantastical creatures using a homemade salt dough recipe, objects around the house, and paint. A perfect activity for a rainy fall day! Gallery artist-educator Claire Moore walks you through various ways to add texture and shape to your salt dough, as well as instructions for how to heat the sculptures in the oven.
