Surrey Civic Theatres are the Main Stage and Studio Theatre at Surrey Arts Centre, and Centre Stage at Surrey City Hall. Wholesome and hearty. Fresh and frosty...Is it cake? Or is it To Perfection —shameless hussy’s latest production by Meghan Gardiner. Gloria, a former celebrityTV chef, played by the inimitable Patti Allan, is finally reuniting with her estranged grandchild, Alex. However, the temperature heats up when Alex, played by RaeTakei, comes out as non-binary and opens a ‘genderational’ divide. Can Gloria and Alex find the perfect mix for their family recipe? Or will it all bubble over and explode? Without sugar-coating, To Perfection tackles the issues of modern life and family conflict in relatable and hilarious way, ensuring audiences of all ages will find this play contains all the right ingredients for the perfect food-for-thought theatre outing. This autumn there is not one, butTWO mesmerizing musicals to enjoy in a stunning double bill of theatre. Josephine: A Burlesque Cabaret Dream Play is the award-winning story of Josephine Baker, the first African American international superstar, and one of the 20th century’s most formidable icons. Josephine rose to fame after moving to Europe, where she shattered race, gender, and sexuality stereotypes. While the new show from the same creative team is Josie and Grace: A Mostly Historical Cabaret Dream Play. This performance combines Josephine’s story with one of the most remarkable figures of the 20th Century, Academy Award winning actress and Princess of Monaco, Grace Kelly. Josie and Grace includes cabaret-style songs, cinematic scenes, and narration and gives audiences a peek behind the curtains of these legendary stars and their lifelong friendship. Get tickets for one—or both incredible shows! We are thrilled to present Grammy nominated, Mil’sTrills and their high-energy, interactive performance Let it Out! as part of Surrey SPARK Stages series of performances for kids and families. Brooklyn-based, Amelia “Mil” Robinson is an artist educator who brings people together through inspiring songs. Let it Out! is all about helping kids reduce their stress levels by identifying and processing their emotions in positive and fabulously fun affirming ways.This concert is sure to SPARK your happy! Laugh, sing, and move with family and friends! BONUS:Take part in the Mil’sTrills music- making workshop, Make Messy Music with Mil’sTrills: A Beginner’s Guide to Songwriting happening earlier in the day. Join Canadian cultural icon, comedian, and social activist, Mary Walsh as she performs some of her best comedic bits and most popular characters from Dancing With Rage, CODCO  and  This Hour Has 22 Minutes , along with up-to-the-minute local political satire. As well as reuniting with some of Walsh's beloved characters, you can expect to enjoy some film as well an exclusive preview of Mary's new novel.This is a jam-packed show that will appeal to a broad spectrum of comedy fans! Expect to enjoy a rollicking good time with a ton of truth telling, just a smidge of sadness, and plenty of laughs. Sure to be a night on the town to remember!
