MESSAGE FROM Mayor Brenda Locke Surrey is building strong, healthy communities where people of all ages can be active participants and engaged for life. As our city grows, Council will ensure our parks and recreational amenities keep pace. A third ice sheet is being added to the Cloverdale Sport and Ice Complex and work is underway on a new recreation centre in Newton and new Athletics Centre in Bear Creek Park. Getting active and connecting with others contribute to a healthy lifestyle and an enhanced quality of life. From a child’s first skating lesson, joining a coed volleyball league or taking to the court for a game of pickleball, there is something for everyone. In this guide you will find programs, lessons and activities for all ages and skill levels. We take great pride in ensuring all of our citizens are fully engaged no matter the age, ability or means. Whether you are a longtime resident of Surrey or a newcomer to our city, I invite you to make the most of Surrey’s excellent recreational programming.
