Growing Outside Artist: Ali Bruce Location: Newton Athletic Park Pavilion Category: Civic collection Installed: 2025
Growing Outside is a mural by artist Ali Bruce, located at the Pavilion building at Newton Athletic Park. The mural highlights the vibrant energy encircling the Pavilion by representing a range of plants, birds, and sports that grow, nest, and kick off in the surrounding environment. Growing Outside is inspired by communal outdoor spaces and the many activities that take place, whether connecting with people or nature. By combining sports with natural scenery and colourful patterning, the sprawling artwork invites the public to grow and move alongside it.
