Surrey Police Consultation Data

Until recently I worked in Surrey and have previously lived in Surrey.....unless you add 300 police to the current numbers you will fail at Changing things.....the police there do a good job but are so under

staffed it is an impossible battle. Use electric cars as police cars

Using facts and evidence to update the public, less crafted media lines and uninformed statements from the mayor. I support a move for a muni dept, just not how the mayor is doing it. The RCMP are doing a great job & a muni dept will do the same Utilize Bylaw Officers to compliment the current RCMP and have them proactively enforce Bylaws and maintain the public peace. Swear the Bylaw Officers in as Special Constables and have them on proactive patrol. Value vote out the current mayor - this move was all about getting votes to become mayor - a city force will not change much, keep the RCMP VPD (nor their Union) would approve the model they have recommended for Surrey. How long before requests additional manpower and appoints as a resource? Wages S. 22(1) S. 22(1)

We are happy with the RCMP. We do not want to pay more for fewer police officers.

We are proud to be served by the RCMP. They are well trained and experienced. We need more police, not fewer. We do not agree with paying more for less! We can't afford a new Surrey Police force. We currently have a wonderful police force in the RCMP . It is diverse and are very responsive anytime I have contacted them. They need more officers and that is ALL that we need! We do not need a Surrey Police Force to satisfy our Mayors ego. We do not need a City Police and Surrey certainly cannot afford to finance, operate and maintain a City force. We are served well by RCMP and additional RCMP manpower to the existing force is all that is required.
