Parks, Recreation and Sport Tourism Advisory Committee The Parks, Recreation & SportTourism Advisory Committee provides advice to Council on strategies and activities related to parks, recreation, diversity, inclusion, sport tourism and seniors’ services in Surrey. The Committee is comprised of two members of City Council, one Surrey SchoolsTrustee and volunteer members who are City of Surrey residents and appointed by the Mayor and Council.

Best for customers who wish to see all available activities first and then make selections. Can filter by keyword, course code or date range. Focused Search: Answer a few quick questions and display results based on selections. Best for customers who know exactly what they’re looking for or those who want to be guided to a program. Beat the Heat SUMMER SAFETY TIPS In extreme heat, it’s important to stay hydrated and cool. Wear lightweight clothing, a wide-brimmed hat and

PROGRAM WITHDRAWAL FEES: There is a $15 withdrawal fee for most programs if you withdraw within seven days of the program’s start date. Leisure Access Program If you are in financial need, you might qualify for Surrey’s Leisure Access Program. With the Leisure Access Program, you can join Surrey recreation activities for 75% off, or in some cases, free. The City of Surrey encourages all city residents to participate fully in leisure services and activities. Language translation services are available for free if you have any questions about the Leisure Access program and would like answers in another language. Explore GreenTimbers Urban Forest Park, one of Surrey’s largest parks! With over 10 kilometers of trails, a serene lake and lots of wildlife, it’s perfect for nature lovers. Enjoy fishing year-round from the shore at GreenTimbers Lake or relax in the picnic areas. The park is also great for birdwatching and wildlife photography.
Bear Creek Park 13750 88 Avenue Bear Creek Park is a great summer spot for friends and family. It has charming gardens, a fun waterpark and a unique miniature train. There’s something for everyone! Crescent Beach 12160 Beecher Street Crescent Beach is a top summer spot for friends and family. Its sandy shores, calm waters and stunning sunsets make it perfect for swimming, beach volleyball and relaxing. The scenic promenade and charming pier are great for photos. Spend a day at Crescent Beach and make lasting memories of fun and togetherness!
Fleetwood Gardens 15802 80 Avenue Spend a summer day at Fleetwood Gardens, where you’ll find beautiful flower displays, peaceful paths and open lawns. Moreover, the 7-circuit labyrinth can help you relax your mind and body. It’s a great place to enjoy nature with friends and family. The park is also perfect for wedding photos and offers a tranquil spot to sit and enjoy the flowers.

RECREATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES We offer a wide variety of outdoor recreational opportunities. Get out and explore our nature trails and gardens, public tennis courts, youth parks, water parks, bike trails, public artworks. Stay active for life and experience the unique blend of nature, recreation, and art in Surrey.
Whalley, including City Centre, boasts nearly 40 parks, each offering its own unique experience! Whether you’re exploring the scenic trails and riding the miniature train at Bear Creek Park or indulging in birdwatching amidst the lush forests of Al Cleaver Park, there's no shortage of outdoor adventures that await in Surrey’s bustling hub!
NATURE TRAILS Spot an owl or an eagle’s nest and watch for returning salmon at Bear Creek Park; discover the wetlands, meadows, and lake at GreenTimbers Urban Forest Park; or take in the diverse habitats at Hawthorne Rotary Park. DOG OFF-LEASH AREAS Bear Creek Park, Kennedy Park, Tannery Road Park, Bolivar Park, and Forsyth Park in Whalley offer dog off-leash areas with plenty of space to roam and play. Please remember the off-leash etiquette before you unleash your dog in the off-leash area.
GARDENS Display Gardens
Explore the gardens in Bear Creek Park, Hawthorn Rotary Park and Holland Park and look forward to spectacular annual garden displays! Community Gardens Whalley offers two Community Gardens: Cedar Grove Organic Community Garden, and Queen Elizabeth Meadows Community Garden. YOUTH PARKS Whalley is home to three youth parks—KwantlenYouth Park, Chuck BaileyYouth Park and Bear CreekYouth Park—offering a variety of skateboard and BMX features for all skill levels. BIKE PARKS Quibble Creek Greenway features a small pump trail, which is great for honing skills like cornering and jumping. WATER PARKS Bridgeview Park, Bear Creek Park and Hawthorne Park spray parks are activated by push buttons when it is warmer than 20 degrees Celsius. Both areas offer many additional amenities, such as walking paths, sports fields and picnic areas. OUTDOOR POOLS Enjoy a free public swim or book your summer swimming lessons at Kwantlen Outdoor Pool. Check online for dates and operating hours. PICKLEBALL /TENNIS Check to see what public outdoor courts are located in your neighbourhood. Some are lit for night time use until 10:30pm. For more information visit surrey.ca/ tennis-pickleball . NATURE TRAILS Tynehead Regional Park consists of rolling meadow and forest on the banks of the Serpentine River providing an ideal habitat for owls, hawks and coyotes. Watch for Steller’s Jays and Brown Creepers along the 1.6 kilometre nature trail at Hazelnut Meadows Community Park; take in the views of mud flats, salt marshes and thousands of migrating birds at Mud Bay; and look for fish, like salmon, at Surrey Lake Park. features at the south end of Unwin Park, you’ll also find an outdoor pool and playground.
