• In 2024, the City acquired 7.4 acres of parkland, of which 6.1 acres was acquired through property purchases and 1.3 acres through the dedication requirements for subdivision under the Local Government Act; • Surrey Fusion Festival and Surrey Tree Lighting Festival won a total of seven local and international awards; and
• The Focus Newton Action Plan was implemented based on feedback from thousands of Newton residents to make the community more vibrant and connected. Highlights include increasing vibrancy and greenery, making Newton cleaner and safer, expanding programs and events, improving public spaces and amenities, and enhancing safe active transportation. Six new community picnics and three movie nights were hosted as well as new family events.
