FUTURE INITIATIVES, GOALS & OBJECTIVES

INCLUSION

• Continue to deploy quarterly client satisfaction surveys to monitor client experience and identify improvement opportunities; • Establish guidelines to process public interest applications (for example, not -for-profit rental, education, health care in Development Planning;

• Investigate policies to promote project completion, reducing idle, undeveloped land; and • Further the use of incremental performance measures, at key milestones in the approval process, to provide additional insights to stalled projects and seeking reduce the overall application time. • Plan and hold a Small Builders Forum to discuss new processes and online tools, and provide tips for enhanced successes during building field reviews; • Enable Digital Plan submissions and Reviews for all permit types; • Complete the implementation of the automated zoning compliance system; • Advance the Official Community Plan update to comprehensively support housing needs integration, climate action and the assessment of all agricultural, food-producing land in Surrey, with a view to protecting these lands for the purpose of addressing future food security requirements; • Initiate NCPs for Grandview East; • Draft new zones for six-storey, mid rise and high rise mixed use, missing

• Continue to respond to the provincial housing legislation changes; • Complete the implementation of the recommendations for the Certified Professional Program, implementing streamlining, quality assurance and oversight opportunities; • Investigate leveraging Professional Reliance in the approval process, including Geotechnical reviews and Qualified Environmental Professionals; • Develop a performance monitoring program for Building permits, to provide a transparent, data driven, quality assurance oversight program Plan and host a Single-Family Dwelling Designers Forum to discuss new processes and online tools, and to provide tips for enhanced streamlining of approval processes including quality and completeness of submissions; and identify opportunities for improvement and training; •
