PLANNING & DEVELOPMENT

• Update OCP transit corridor designations, aligned with Provincial Housing Legislation and the Surrey Langley Skytrain expansion, to remove OCP amendments and allow projects to proceed without needing to undertake NCP process; • Integrate infill intensification and 15-minute neighbourhoods policy;

• Advance the stage 1 NCP for South Westminster, capturing its potential as a “Gateway to Surrey”; • Continue to support construction of the new Newton Community Centre and preparation of a new Master Plan; and • Continue to support the Cloverdale Fairgrounds Master Plan development.

PUBLIC SAFETY

• Continue to support the accelerated delivery of the new Cloverdale hospital and BC Cancer Centre, with continued support for Fraser Health Authority and their project team to prepare and advance the Building Permit Application; and

• Continue to resolve non-permitted construction, streamlining citizen complaints, inquiries, and follow-up. New processes have been established to align activities and responses between the Building Division, Bylaw Division, and Legal Services Division.

ECOSYSTEMS

• Continue to develop approaches to further support the development of energy-efficient buildings of the future; and •

Continue roll-out of enhanced environmental review process for new developments.

INFRASTRUCTURE

• Continue to implement updates to the City’s Land Management System for ongoing sustainability, leveraging process automation for added capacity.
