PUBLIC SAFETY—SURREY POLICE SERVICE

INCLUSION

Officers and civilian staff with the Community Policing Bureau conducted extensive community engagement throughout 2025 that included attendance at well over 1,000 community events, participation in various charitable events, Walk the Beat Wednesdays, Coffee with the Community events, and regular engagement with local businesses and organizations; and

• SPS’s Volunteer Program launched with 48 volunteers who contributed over 3,700 volunteer hours in 2025. These volunteers support crime prevention campaigns, community events, and road safety initiatives. The program will continue to expand in the years ahead.

Community Engagement

INFRASTRUCTURE

• Implemented multiple technology initiatives in 2025, including a body-worn camera pilot project with Road Safety officers; a biometric monitoring system to monitor the health and safety of detainees; and a Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (“RPAS”) drone program to advance investigations, enhance operational awareness during large-scale events, and aid in critical incidents.
