LIVING IN A CARE FACILITY AND HOSPITAL VOTING Election staff will be visiting Care Facilities in September to drop off Mail Ballot packages for eligible electors who are unable to attend a voting location. Facility staff may contact the Election Headquarters if additional packages are required. Special Voting Opportunities will be conducted for eligible electors who are residents or patients of the Surrey Memorial Hospital at the time of voting, as follows: Friday, October 5, 2018 8:30am to 12:30pm Surrey Memorial Hospital 13750 96 Avenue Surrey, BC V3V 1Z2 I am a Surrey property owner, but don’t live in Surrey. Can I vote? If you own property in the City of Surrey (residential property only) but you live elsewhere in BC, you are eligible to vote if you meet the following requirements at the time of voting: • Must be registered as a non-resident property elector of the City of Surrey; • 18 years of age or older on general voting day; • a Canadian citizen; • a resident* of British Columbia, as determined in accordance with applicable legislation, for at least 6 months immediately before the day of registration; • a registered owner of real property in the City of Surrey for at least 30 days immediately before the day of registration; • an individual not holding the real property in trust for a corporation or any other trust; • not entitled to register as a resident elector in the City of Surrey;
