EXHIBITION HIGHLIGHTS

10 and 10: Story of Stories June 28–August 9, 2025 This 50th anniversary exhibition pairs permanent collection artworks acquired from the first ten years of collecting (1975–1985) and the last ten years (2014–2024) through themes of landscape, architecture, portraiture, and movement.

Engage with contemporary art through changing exhibitions, permanent artworks, and events like talks, tours, and artmaking days with friends and family. Surrey Art Gallery is a public art museum that features art from the 1970s to the present, including painting, photography, sculpture, printmaking, and electronic media art. Since 1975, more than 12 000 local, national, and international artists have shown their work here. We also offer art classes for all ages and skill levels so you can explore your creative side. There’s something for everyone! Admission is free.

Experiments in Solitude June 28–August 16, 2025 An exhibition by Brittney Appleby and MV Williams of cyanotypes, analogue photography, video, and more, that is experimental in nature and references experiences of chronic illness, disability, memory, place, and home.

Summer Opening: [e]merging Art Party July 5 | 6pm−9pm Celebrate our summer exhibits! The evening will include the announcement of the ARTS 2025 People’s Choice award, the piecing together of a collaborative collage inspired by MVWilliams’ ideas about home, place, and memory, a conversation with 10 and 10: Story of Stories artists Lyse Lemieux and Sara Khan, and much more. The party then continues offsite at UrbanScreen with 5X Fest.

Family Art Party July 12 | 12pm−4pm Surrey Art Gallery

Bring your family and friends for an afternoon of artmaking inspired by the exhibitions 10 and 10: Story of Stories and Experiments in Solitude . Make art with artist and author Kiranjot Kaur, design your own wire sculpture, and investigate the exhibitions through the Art Monster Guide with GalleryYouth Docents. Join an interactive performance of signing, drumming, and dance with Spakwus Slolem (translated Eagle Song Dancers).
